Question Can't turn off alarm!!

I was wondering if someone could possibly tell me where to get an alarm remote for my mazda rx7 1987...They said that year they did not come from factory so I took it in to a shop and they said yes it had to be factory. Well if I lock my doors when I get in the horn goes off and the lights start flashing. So unless I want to unhook my battery every time I just don't lock it..Can I get a remote for this somewhere? Thanks alot...Rita

I've tried to find a fuse or anything that would even link to an alarm and can't find a thing. I bought this car at an auction and really like it. It was in pretty bad shape so it's hard finding everything that was suppose to be on it. But thanks for answering anyway.

Use your key to unlock the door from the outside and it shoudl shut it off each time.

The first time I found out it had an alarm I was sitting in a parking lot trying to figure out WTF was goin on. lol it was pretty funny.

One time my alarm went off when I was out with a friend and the car was parked in her driveway. Needless to say after about an hour the neighbors called the police who called my house and got my mom to call my cell and I had to drive 25 minutes back to turn it off. Ever since that day I dont like to leave my car parked for long periods of time =/

(Location: Drivers Kickpanal or off the ECU)

Same with my car ever since I had the above mentioned fiasco, I could smash all the windows out and throw my car into an earthquake and that bitch wouldnt go off. Surprising to see so many similar alarm stories. Also ive I close and lock the drivers door before the passenger door is closed the alarm light will blink on and off until the battery dies. Anyone else have that problem?

My alarm went off like twice a month. Sometimes during the day and sometimes 3 in the morning. POS!

Wow Car alarms!!

Yes it is amazing how many similar stories about alarms there are. thanks everybody. Its nice to know that this doesn't just happen to me..LOL...I'll try the cpu behind the glovebox..But when I locked my doors its when I use my key to unlock them that it goes off...And of course unhooking the battery isn't an option for me anyway. Thats way too much trouble. Thats why I was hoping to get a remote to turn it off with. I've tried unlocking driver door first, passenger door first, and locking with and without a key..I've really looked like a dummy with all my trials and errors with this car...But I love it...Got it at an auction..

the alarm should disarm itself when you use your key in the pass or driver side door or trunk.

if it's not turning off when you unlock the doors (the light should stop flashing after you unlock it.....) then the wiring or contacts inside the doors are bad.

uhhh, it's not that big of a deal to remove the alarm CPU.

HOWEVER.... most of the issues you guys are having are due to the harness/plug for the CPU being loose. Unplug it and plug it back in, and of ye go!

When I lock my car somewhere (esp. if it's not raining) I find it's more effective to leave the driver's side window down far enough that it wouldn't be hard to reach in and flip the lock mechanism down. If you unlock the car that way while the alarm is armed, the alarm will go off. The only way I've found to shut the alarm off after it has started alarming is to unlock the hatch with the key. Hope THAT helps.

When my alarm goes off I hop into the car and turn the key and it turns off.

my car was broken into so the rear hatch is busted up, maybe thats why it goes off even when I use the key!

#1 There is no remote for the stock alarm

#2 Why does everyone want to disable something that can stop your car from being stolen, instead of just fixing the broken door or hatch switches???

99.99% of the time when the alarm is "setting off by itself" the door latch switches (the lock/unlock switch accessed from the inside next to the door release switch) are either dirty, broken, or out of alignment.

as I have said countless times before: FIX THE CAR instead of just ripping things out.

#3 As covered above the factory system disarms with the key in the door.

#4 If you are still lame and must remove the system, on the S4 cars it is located behind the glove box. On the S5 cars it is in the CPU.

No...wait a second here,,,I never said it went off when it wasn't suppose to..When I lock my doors everything is fine..When I unlock them with my key the alarm starts to go off. So the only way to unlock my door is to hurry up and unhook the battery. It doesn't go off until I use my keys to get in. I bought this wonderful car from an auction for 150.00 and it runs great. But there are things that wasn't there or I cannot find them. I love this car but I just don't lock my doors anymore. Thanks again..Rita

Probably a broken key sense disarm wire, or unplugged plug, both in the drivers door.

Instead of using the key to lock the door: lock the door from the inside when you get out and hold up the door handle as you close the door. This method has always worked for me and I haven't had a false alarm ever that I didn't cause myself.

Like I said, instead of pulling the battery cable everytime just hop in the car when the alarm goes off and turn the car to the "on" position and the car will automatically shut off the alarm.. or if the drivers side door doesnt work try the passenger, my drivers side lock was busted up so it goes off everytime when I open it with the key. The passenger works fine.

I noticed that when getting out of the car if I get out and lock the door before the turbo timer goes off the alarm wont go off the next time I get in BUT if I sit and wait for the timer to shut the car off THEN lock it up the alarm will sound the next time I get in...
