cant shift!!!!!!!!!wtf!

ok, so i go to drive to wake tech today and my car wont drop into gear, so i pump the clutch a bit and it drops. so i go until i hit a stoplight, and the same crap hapens, i realize theere is a definite prob, but im half way there and need to go. i keep messing with the clutch till it drops and then realize i cant downshift either!

well finally after much pain and trouble i get there and struggle home. so now i cant shift, i have about 6 inces of free clutch play, plus it sticks. and theres a burn smell when i drive sometimes. it shifts fine when off tho.
i had my clutch replaced 3 weeks ago and asked for a new throw-out bearing and pivot bearing. i found some posts saying that it could be that as well as like 3 other things, but i want to know if anyone knows for sure and what damage may be done now.
thx
ben

Sounds like it may be the pilot bearing. Generaly, when the car is runing, you will not be able to get it into gear. When the car is off, you can slip it in and out.

Damage cased by a pilot bearing? None that I know. You will nedd to take the clutch out to see if it broke or not. Mazdatrix sells a great tool to get the bearing out.

Good luck.

have someone push in the clutch to see if the hydrallic system is working, see if the clutch rod is being pushed in. also see if your fluid level is low, IE a leak. Alot of times the piston that pushed the clutch out will seep, so rub your finger on the rubber boot that covers it. Look for leaks. Hope this helped
