I picked up an 87 NA Rx7 a while ago as a parts car for my other one. I've decided to try and get it running and it's almost there but something is wrong with the tranny. I can't move the stick to the right to get into 5th or reverse. It's like something is blocking it. Any idea what would cause this and how hard is it to fix? I'd rather not have to take the tranny off the car...

 

you're gonna have to take the transmission off...likely a bent/broken linkage. luckily this shouldn't require total dismantling of the trans, just removal of the shifter extension housing
