Can't find the black/white wire that connects to the spade on the starter

88 GXL, 5 speed converted

Can anyone confirm for me that the small black/white wire that connects to the small spade on the starter, is in the same wiring harness as the big black positive wire that is bolted to the starter also? If it's not in this same wire grouping, where is it?

Spent a good while looking for this wire, and I can't seem to make any progress. I just need to know if I'm overlooking it. Because small things like this really frusterate me.

Thanks

I know the one on my car runs with the pack that comes off the alternator and what not. Then again my car was a bit hacked up before I got it.

It should run with the postive wire to the starter, mine does, it is about 150mm apart, the ends of the two wires I mean.

I'm pretty sure your're talking about the small wire that goes on the starter solenoid. The last time I looked, that wire runs from the area around the Main Relay. On my cars, that wire is found in a BLUE elect connector near the Main Relay. That blue connector has a single jumper wire in it. It's not two sections of harness mating together.

On a car with Theft Protection, that Blue connector is not there. It is replaced by a relay for theft protection. So if you do not have Theft Protection......you should have the Blue connector close to the MainRelay. You might have to look under the Trail coils to find it. It might be stuffed under there out of sight.

That starter circuit runs from the ignition switch, to the clutch interlock, to the BLUE CONNECTOR/or theft relay, to the starter solenoid.

This jpg shows something called the Starter Cut Relay. That is for cars with Theft Protection. If you have no Theft Protection, then that relay is just a jumpered blue connector. Near the MainRelay.

Thanks HAILERS, I finally understand that wiring diagram now. I'm sure that as i was taking the engine/transmission out, that I probably shoved the wire somewhere out of the place. I'll go give it another look.
