What size is the canister? Any better description? Don't know of any other part that would be similar to the fuel filter, located in that area.

havent had an oppertunety to see it from under yet but looking down it looks almost exactly like the fuelfilter(cylinder) i mean same size from the top but length may differ.
also it has a small pipe sticking and slightly bent, looking like there should be a hose connected. been looking allover for what it might be and starting to think that maybe the previous owner changed filter and left the oldone there hehe a longshot but who knows??

Sounds like your car has the charcoal canister near the fuel filter, which is odd because they are on opposite ends of the engine bay, at least in our cars.

I'll bet it's the original filter that someone left bolted up, and the current filter is just hanging on by the hoses right beside it...

I wouldn't doubt it, those things are a bitch to get off and put back on!

This reminds me of a neat little mod I did to mine a while back- Got some new fuel injection hose, and moved the filter up a little bit further into the engine bay. Now it 's attached to the frame rail below the strut tower. Makes it a heck of a lot easier to get to

I did the same thing. Makes an hour job take 10 minutes.

How often are you changing a fuel filter? I had no problems when I had to change mine (once so far in 1.5 years).

I don't do it very often, every 30K maybe, but all it takes is one time having fuel drip down my arms while I'm under the car, and I find a solution to that crap
