I looked and looked..and felt..and the front rotor felt and looked the exact same as the rear rotor. is a compression test needed to tell if a seal is lost without opening the engine..
im this far already..i did the ghetto mans compression test, and i failed...so if its not blown..its getting rebuilt anyway

You can usually get a good idea if your apex seals are still there, but there's always the possibility of losing cracking a side seal, or a corner seal, or losing the triangular end peice, so it's not the most informative.
When I messed up my front rotor / housing I could look in the exhaust port (with the engine on the bench) and see the chip that I put in one of the seals. Since yours went from detonation and not having something dropped in it like mine, you could have lost something other than just an apex seal. I would buy a $30 compression gage, thread in on a spark plug hole, spin the engine while propping the valve open on the compression tester. You will see the needle jump up to like 100ish if you have good compression. The good half of my worn out but still strong NA engine had 3x90 while the blown half had 0 on all.
