Can vaccum hoses be eliminated?

Im working on a 87 rx7 turbo. The intake manifold gaskets have to be replaced. One I took off the manifild I could see the fuel lines and the vaccum lines. Is it possible to eliminate the vaccum lines and just have the fuel lines?Well what I mean is have less vaccum hoses as possible? Thanks for your help.

Search. :-)

You can't eliminate all the vacuum lines. Some are required (the one to the fuel pressure regulator, the one to the boost/pressure sensor, the fresh air vent to the oil injectors if you use them, the fresh air vent to the primary injector air bleeds, emissions control, and probably some turbo stuff I'm not familiar with).

The real question is "Do you live in a place you can get away with removing emissions control?" If yes, you can remove a LOT of junk from the engine (search for "emissions removal" - there's a nice writeup in the 2nd gen archives).

Also, if you run premix, you can remove the entire oil injection assembly, getting rid of 4 vent lines, 4 oil lines, the injector nozzles, and the injection pump (yes, you still need oil in the crankcase).
