can something be wrong w/a turbo even though it makes boost?

I was wondering if something could be wrong with a turbo even though it makes boost? My turbo spools up pretty quick but I can't feel the power come on. Really laggy and comes on slow and not hard at all. I took off the TID and it feels fine and spins freely. It's the original stock turbo w/150,000+ miles on it. Even though it boosts, could there be something wrong?

so the car making full boost? if it is, it cant' be a leak or anything, possibly the intercooler is dirty, get it flushed? EGR clogs up intake piping (i have seen the effects) possibly you aren't getting good airflow or something?!

my 2 cents, i am probalby wrong but hey, it's reply

Thanks for the reply nonetheless. Posted this in a couple different sections without any replies. It's making full boost, so I don't think there is a leak anywhere. No cats, just dp and mp, so not a clogged cat either. Have a Power Extreme catback, so it's not that either. Removed the secondary throttle plates since I thought maybe they weren't opening, wasn't that either. Changed all the vacuum hoses, changed the fuel filter, plugs and wires. I've pretty much checked everything I thought could be associated with this problem. Haven't tried flushing the intercooler though. What's the best way to do this?

Just to help you keep this post on top, have you checked the compression? Could just be a tired engine.

I'm sure the compression is fine. I've had ReTed and a few other guys check the car out and compression wan't an issue. I read between 16-18 on vacuum, which I think is another good indication of good compression. The engine is really strong. Pulls to redline fast and with ease, it just doesn't give me that push in the seat when the turbo is supposed to kick in. The car actually feels really laggy when it builds boost. The timing is on, so it's not that either. I'm thinking it's a lame ecu, I hit 10lbs on many occasions without fuel cut. Another member on the forum, Fattyfc3s, mentioned that his car initially had a lame ecu and it wasn't until his 3rd one that his car actually ran right. Sounds kind of like a long shot, but that's the next thing I'll try. Before anyone warns me about no cats and fuel, don't worry, I have a
walbro and SAFC, and am running rich. Thanks for the replies.
