Judging by the hose connected to it, it looks like a vacuum chamber, but I've never seen one on an FC or in any of the FC FSM's. The shape of it (matching the sheetmetal underneath) and the spark lead clips make it look like it's a factory item. Where does it connect to?

It looks like a vacuum tank, maybe to support the brake booster?

Where does its vac hose go?

hiya guys - didnt see your responses

its a UK car - so that could be why you havent seen it

its not in any manual i can find

it looks like it leads to the engine somewhere and had white bulbs in it ( sorry thats the best description i can think of !! )

i will get the camera out tonight and see if i can get some better shots

this could be interesting then

the only reason i ask is that i cant clean around it - and looking at some of your engine bays - they dont have it

I will be back with pics ( at work now so it will be a few hrs )

thanks again

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that since it's a right hand drive car, that it's a charcoal cannister for emissions, although it's an unusual shape for one. If it were in the usual palce for LHD drive cars, the brake and clutch master cylinders would be in the way.

The charcoal cannister in RHD cars is identical to the ones in LHD cars and sits in the opposite corner on the engine bay to where it sits in LHD cars.
