Can someone explain how increased steering angle kits work?

what im not getting is how adding spacers to your inner/outer tierods can give you more angle without excessive toe in/out?(i forgot if the tie rods are in front or behind the strut) also do they affect the steering characteristics i.e.make the car twitchier or anything????

Not outer rods...just inner. The outer rod "kits" are just pillowball tie rods with the ability to adjust bump steer (or something).

Adding spacers to the inner rods just lets the rack move a bit more each way before it hits the stoppers (the inner rods)... which in turn gives you a few more degrees of angle at full lock (although you might rub your tires a bit without spacers).
