can a "non-tilting" steering wheel be converted to a tilt wheel?

I have put a slightly smaller wheel on my convertible and now I can't see the tops of my gauges, ---the tach and directional indicator lamps most importantly.

Can I somehow change the geometry of the column to raise the height of the wheel about an inch or better yet, can the non tilting wheel be converted to a tilt style without alot of expense??

The tilt column is a direct replacement for the non-tilt. I have one for $35 if you want it, but the install is sort of a PITA.

Tilt Column

Do you have a picture of that tilt column? I am taking the power steering off of my wife's '91 RX7 and was thinking of looking for a tilt column (I have to disconnect the thing anyway). I just bought a manual rack and pinion from a guy on eBay. My power rack was leaking on the driver's side, so I couldn't just bypass the power.
Anyway, if the other fella isn't interested in that tilt column, let me know.

My email is: allenbillings@netscape.net

If you are going to put it on eBay, let me know so that I can bid on it.

It was already on eBay, no bids. I do have a picture, just not one handy for the moment. I got a PM from the other guy, but have not read it yet so he may be interested.
