need help altenator wire harness

well i did the n/a to t2 swap and my idiot cluster stays on all the time and the shift up light stays on all the time, also my oil pressure and temperature gauge peg out as soon as i turn on the ignition. can someone tell me what are the correct wires to splice into, since the n/a and t2 harness are different. also i use my multimeter and i must have spliced the wrong wires because both have constant voltage. thanks in advance

You'll want to get a wiring diagram for both the TII and NA and then compare the two. You can find these diagrams in the factory service manuals at http://www.fc3s.org

The temp gauge and oil pressure wires go on to the sensors. You have them grounded if they peg out.

Your fifth switch might be bad or the wire is grounded if the shift light stays on.

I just did an 88 NA to 89T2 swap and i used my NA harness without any problems and without any splicing(no emissions).

jahoo88-my tII-conversion is 99% complete, but my engine harness (tII) is missing 2 plugs, there is only wires sticking out of the harness now. So you can use the NA harness if you are "bare block"? if so it would be great since I am bare block.

btw I am doing a 87NA-88t2 swap.

I have the same project on the go and despite
what everyone says, it is not a plug and play swap!
I have been told by a few places and people that it is
easy and that the TII wiring will just plug in,, this might
be true but the wiring has to be adjusted in the plugs
on the TII to work on the n/a car, and a alt wire has to be
added to one of the plugs.
This is where you will find the first two different wires
on the n/a car wiring the alt wires are in plug x-15
and the same location on the TII harness this is where the
wire to the boost gauge and I think temp sending unit wires
go. The temp sending unit wire on the n/a car is in plug x-16
and this wire needs to be moved from x-15 on the TII harness.
I have just started to move the needed wires into the correct
locations, If I get it to work I might have to make a x-15
and x-16 pin out diagram to make this process easier.
If there is anyone else who has done this I would love some
help, if not I will figure it out and try to help others .

Matt
