Can an N/A ECU run a TII motor???

This is a question that's been floating around in my head for a while. First of all consider that there have been a few people who have had success puting a turbo on their N/A motor using the stock N/A computer. Well, why not just use the whole TII motor with the stock N/A computer? Wouldn't it be about the same only safer, since the TII motor is lower compression (no detonation worries)?? I know this isnt ideal, but if it is workable, a person could just buy a j-spec motor and drop it in with only a few other necessary parts (intercooler for one). And if the tuning isnt quite right, one could always add a piggyback fuel computer. What do you guys think?

a t2 motor will run on a NA ecu, I know that for sure, but I would NOT recomend driving around like that. If you are going to sheel out a grand the t2 motor, is going to cost you, what is an other $75?

the na does know what boost is...thats why you have a boost sensor. however it only reads up to 10lbs i think, the tII boost sensor goes to 20lbs.

NA has a pressure sensor that senses up to 0psi, it does NOT see boost. The only way for the ECU to see boost is to upgrade to a TII pressure sensor. Even though, the ECU wont retard the timing under boost. NOT a good idea

I agree.

Besides, you can get a full-function Microtech EMS for only $1,100 AUD (about $650 USD).
