can i use regular lightbulbs to adjust the TPS?
Better not. Don't use lightbulbs at all. You should get low-current LED's. Lightbulbs pull to much current and could fry your ECU. This is the case on a 1986-88 model. I don't know about the newer types. I always use two voltmeters.

Get a couple of Radio Trash 12Volt LED's. Tie the red wire from each LED together and presto, you have one each TPS checker.
To use stick the two red wires that are tied together in the crossways running terminal on the green connector, and one each black wire into the parallel terminals on the same connector.
Adjust with a warm engine. Simply turn the TPS screw slowly until only one of the LED's light up.
