This is an excellent engineering question.

First, what the hell is an e fan

second.....

well, haven't got there yet.
Maybe cause I don't have a turbo on mine?

I have two friends using electric fans off other cars. One has a 88 GTU w/ 48mm carbs using a e-fan off a Pontiac Fiero. Another friend with a 88GXL is using 2nd gen MR2 stock dual e-fans.

I have an e-fan from a Fiero. The fan shroud almost covers the whole radiator on our cars. I really liked this fan because it was $20 bux and pulls a good amount of air.

You can also buy a NEW fan from summit. The popular one is the black magic fan. I think it costs something like $150 for it.

There are better fans than fieros but they are so common dont let people talk you into a fiero fan cause they are cheap and plentiful

I removed the stock FC shroud. The shroud thats built into the e-fan covers most of the radiator.

Its true that there are plenty of e-fans better than the fiero's but to alot of people it comes down to the price tag. My friend and I both have Fiero fans on our rx7 (he has an FB and I have an FC). His stock temp gauge sits lower now. Yes, I know the stock temp gauge sucks *** but it works very well for Joe American. He's very happy with it and the fan + aftermarket thermo switch didnt put a hole in neither of our wallets.

I guess it all comes down to how much cash you have to spend and how badly you need the fan. Mail order VS. local junkyard.

uhmm.. I know that the taurus V6 fan will work too... the shroud is a bit more restrictive than the fiero shroud, but it pulls a lot of air...
