can I turn on the car?

well what is up everyone, well after selling my FD for school and bills, I said to myself that I wouldnt get into another rx7, but finding a good deal I have decided to come back to the exciting world of Rotaries lol.

Well I bought a 87TII for $100, good body and good interior. Well the previous owner stated that he was driving and the car just magicaly shut off and never turned back on ( lol) .

well here is my question, I am trying to see if I can get the car running, does anyone know what can I try to turn on the car, the motor turns over but it wont fire up!! besides push starting does anyone know some trick to see if it would turn on?

Thank you everyone, John

flooded, dry the plugs off, maybe put a teaspoon of oil in the chamber.

Yeah I changed the sparkplugs and tried flooding the motor. The next thing that I am thinking of doing is buying starter spray ( lol something like that)

no the motor being flooded is the problem, unless it's not getting spark. or something is broken

starter fluid is horrible for the housings. it washes all the oil off the walls. that would be my LAST thing to do on the start list.

At the risk of sounding stupid; check the simple stuff: gas (proper amount), spark, fuses, etc. Good luck, great buy!!

I know that is what I thought. I bought it from an 63year old man. (Original owner) the mileage is 89K and I also noticed that there was a line of oil on the back of the motor that is all clogged of oil.

If it doesnt turn on, it is ok I guess. I will do a crazy swap lol...Maybe 3rotor.

The way i see it, if it turns on Il get to drive it for a lil bit before I do my swap.

lol maybe you should know what your talking about before you start talking about a 3 rotor swap. the eccentric shaft and a couple other parts are $5.5k alone not including all the other major stuff.

maybe you should learn whats wrong with it first

I'll give ya $200 for the whole thing. Sounds like a good deal to me....I mean, you could double your money without really doing anything!! lol

Seriously, check the basics first. Unless its a blown engine, starting problems shouldn't be too hard to correct. Good luck! Nice buy!!

If its been sitting for a while it may take a few minutes of turning over to crank. I wish you all the luck in the world though. Killer price on a great car!
