Can I swap boost sensors?
I installing a Jspec S-5 into my 82 GSL. I have been able to source the majority of the swap parts I need. One problem is I have three S-4 boost pressure sensors part # N-318-18-211, but I don't have the S-5 one. # N -370-18-211 . I'am assuming since they are diiferent part numbers you cant swap them. Has anyone had any luck swapping between the two diiferent series. Also I running a Jspec ECU N-374
One more problem they cut the plug off of my wiring harness for the boost pressure sensor. I am assuming its the right wires that are there. They are about 12 inches or so before the plug in for the AFM There are two greens and two browns. I have a plug from another mazda, a 626, it plugs into my s-4 sensors fine, but the wire colors are totally different. Anyone have the pin out for the pig tail. Thanks

The wiring is different between the two generations (the S4's have a 12vdc input for the amplifier section of the sensor that the S5's don't have, for one)...
Having said that, if they both have the approx 5v inputs, and they both have the same outputs at a particular pressure (have to compare FSMs to see), you should be able to rig it up. Use the FSM wiring manuals for the two cars to get the wiring straight...
