I paid one grand for the header, silencer, and the hks exhaust. kind of pricey but i dint care at the time of purchase :p There was a BIG noticeable gain in power. Everything felt stronger. Then I realized my actuators were stuck. I wired them open and got even more power hehe. I lost a bit of low end but gained alot of high end. It was all worth it.

I would do it over again. The only difference is, I would probably go with a single Apexi N1 canister instead of 2 hkS mufflers. I think the n1 looks cool, and sounds cool. The hks exhaust i have look stock (see picture) and sounds really good. At the time I bought my setup I wanted a quieter exhaust and a stock looking one (mainly to keep cops away and to keep bad attention from my car).

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!

Make sure you rip off the flap on the front right of the hood to allow cool air to flow into the cold air box. Get rid of that stupid right angle scoop above the shroud. It doesn't help at all.

Here are my pics:

If you just go to: here then you can see alot of the before and after images when I did my tear down.

The flap man! THE FLAP!!!!

I purchased the air box from mariah. I wanted it done correctly. No cheesy cardboard box crap.

The flap. Hmmmm. It is on your hood when you open it. it is on the front, underneath. it prevents air rushing into the engine bay. I guess it is kinda like a water seal for the engine bay. rip off the flap on the left (facing the engine from the front). ?The left wold be where the air box is for the filter. Rip that shunk off so air can flow directly into the box, thus making a cold air intake seal.....

If you want pictures I can post em and show you what flap I am taking about.

I got a good deal from mariah b/c I spend some good money there. I think it is $120. Well worth it though. Has ZERO leaks of hot air. Nothign but cold air hitting yoru intake.!

you get the picture(s)? just rip off the rubber flap on the left when you have your cold air box in.... This way cold air flows into the box. =)

Does anyone know what the flaps are actually for? I mean, it SEEMS like it's for blocking out water or dirt, but what EXACTLY is it for?

Why don't you do what Jef Card did, and relocate your coolant overflow bucket, and then get some mandrel bent pipe and connect it to a cone filter mounted there? He says it works well, and it's probably cheaper than a home made airbox if you use some old tubing you have lying around!!!
