can i remove wires form the harness

can i remove wires form the harness

since i got rid of all my emissions stuff and am now putting in a new motor can i take out all the wiring that went to the emissions. i mean actually take it out of the harness/ remove from ecu? all the solenoids are gone as is the bac col start aws etc etc etc. i want to get rid of every last thing i don't need

Of course. Be warned, however, that it's a lot of work to completely reloom a harness, and isn't for the faint of heart.

why? For all the work it takes... plus you may damage the harness, it isn't worth it. I have all that gone, and I just let the plugs hang. they don't hurt anything.

i did basically the same thing on my FD wiring harnesses. i pulled every one of them that was in the car an retaped each one. it shouldn't be too much harder to pull out the wiring i don't need. i just wanted to make sure there weren't going ot be any porblems in doing it

I am doing it now. I classify it as preventive maintenance since my TII harness was brittle as crap and all the Injector plugs were shot..
