ON Can I remove this?

Okay, so the back of my car is interiorless. Im looking around and I see the old pots for the factory speakers.....

From the looks the welds are not structual, and it looks to be just for holding the speakers. If I cut them off, and replace with a strut tower bar, would this be okay? Has it been done before?
I know aaron-cake cut holes and made his own 1pc bar..

Yes, the rear speaker pods are just spot welded on.
You can drill out the spot welds and the whole thing falls off.
It does not add anything structural to the chassis.

I'm not a fan of driiling holes in metal... especially when its interior->exterior.
I think I'ma just grind them off, hopefully get it looking decent before I make the interior pieces.
