im still trying to get my car started. and i drained the tranny gear fluid, so now i need to fill it back up, i cant open the fill plug, AT ALL it wont budge, and trust me ive tried almost everything i can. i would drive and get it done there, but i dont have and flui in there and i dont want to break it. so i was wondering if theres any other way to put gear lube in?

That is why you always pull the fill plug first. I dont know what you could do about it though. Sorry.

Not trying to being insulting, but are you positive that you're turning it the right way? =)

yeah because its not like a flywheel nut, there normally pretty damn easy to get off.

p.s. it is the ONLY place you can put the oil in, dont try pouring it in through the shifter or something silly like that.

Put the car on a lift, vice grips, pb blaster (tons of it!) and a 4ft pipe.

Well if it comes down to it, you can fill it thru the drain plug and cap it off REAL fast !

GOOD LUCK !

(some refer to this as going in thru the back door)

1 Quart will work if you drive it EZ. Go ahead and put in the amount described in the manual. Use a clear hose and a funnel.

you could always take the jackstand out from the front...jack the back end up as high as you can, and fill a little through the driveshaft opening...only use the right amount though, since you can't tell with the fill plug...just make sure you put the driveshaft back in before lowering the car

tmiked, how would i use the clear hose and funnel? the fill plug doesnt come off, remember?

endlessrpms, that sounds like a good idea. where should i disconnect it?

and when i tried to start my car last night, the starter made a spark, would it be because i dont have any gear lube in there, or grounding or what?

Tried a propane torch on the plug? Heating parts increases their clearances, one reason not to rev a cold engine too high.

Ok, not to be a dick, but you said "ive just put together an engine, some im not a noob idiot ha." Now, you did pull the drain plug before the fill plug. And the starter will not spark because the flywheel and starter gears are not lubed. The starter and flywheel are not imerged on fluid. If the starter wires are not connected properly, it may spark. Could posslibly short the battery, blow fuses, or start a fire. As far as getting the fill plug off, you can do like the others say, or if you have a drill and a easy out, you can try getting it out that way.

Note: An easy out is a reverse threaded screw type of thing. Drill a big enough hole in the center of the bolt to get the easy out in about 4 threads. Rotate the easy out counter-clockwise with a pair of vise grip while hitting it in with a hammer. The easy out threads in counter-clockwise while simotaneously rotating the bolt counter-clockwise, which is loosening the bolt.

"can i put gear lube somewhere else?"

I'm surprized nobody has replied to that

anyways if you really can't get it off. I would be thinking about calling a tow truck. cheaper then screwing up your tranny.

Oh I was soooo sorely tempted. But I was afraid nobody would get it.

Clear hose has to be a tight fit in the DRAIN plug hole, unless you can find a hose fitting that works or jam a plastic fitting in. The loop the hose higher on the side of the trans and pour the fluid in. By the level in the hose, you can tell how high the fluid is in your transmission. Then quickly take out the hose and replace with the drain plug. Then... spend a couple of hours cleaning up the mess

You've got a good handle on the situation. .. Can't beat the right attitude either :-) Speaking of, I'd better head back to my set of non-running nightmares
