Can i just disconnect the bac to set idle and then reconnect it after its set???

Like its says can i just disconnect the connector on the bac to set my base idle instead of jumpering the initial set connector--- will they both work the same???

I do it that way. Pulling the bac plug off only.

The manual wants you to install the initial set coupler to do that. When you install the initial set coupler, the bac will have a set duty cycle and won't react to the adjustments you make to the throttle settings UNTIL the initial set coupler is removed.

If you do not install the inital set coupler the bac has no duty cycle at all while you set the idle so it can't react to your fiddling around.

I prefer to just pull the bac plug and have at it. Once thru, and the engine is idling, and you reinstall the bac plug the idle will pump up/down for a few cycles then settle down to a steady idle. Idle needs to be set to approx 750 give or take a touch.

Either method works just fine.
