Can I install my Walbro now?

I have the whole interior out of the car, seems like now would be a smart time to install my Walbro... I just want to make sure it's not too much for my car. The only mods I have are the RB turbo back and an FCD. Can I go ahead and do it today, or do I need to wait until my LT-8 and all that are installed? Do I need to install my FPR at the same time???

u can install it now but not re-wire it...

the car will run...

but the walbro will probably over power ur stock FPR and make the car run a little richer...

but it wont stop it from being streetable

OK... I'm thinking I might as well swap in the LT-8S now too. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to put the interior back in when I'm just going to have to yank most of it to install the LT-8S.

you can install it whenever, the stock fuel pressure regulator will keep it from doing anything bad.

Upgrading the pump will increase the fuel rail pressure, and the FPR can't do anything about this. The engine will run slightly richer all the time, with corresponding fuel consumption increase and power decrease. Nothing bad will happen, but it is less efficient. Once the MT is installed and properly tuned this will not be a problem.

I installed a Walbro 255 in my '90 NA and at the same time I also did the fuel damper mod (mine was leaking). I fully expected it to be way rich but it has the same perfect idle that it had before, and I swear there are times when I think I have a turbo, especially on cool days when there's a more dense air charge. I'm sure it's slightly richer, but very streetable.

And you think that's because of a massively oversized fuel pump? That pump will make the already rich stock mixtures even richer, and that will reduce power.
