Can I get a true dual exhaust for my '89 TII?

Hey, I have an '89 TII and I heard that true duals give you a substantial amount of hp boost over the Y-pipe version. Is this true? And if so, does anyone know if it is possible to purchase one or even fabricate my own?

How do they make true duals for a turbocharged car. I mean there is only pipe comming out of the turbo. The only way you could get "true dual" is by having two turbos with separate exhaust for them both.

well yea, its dual to a certain extent. like most of the duals or all for the turbo are just like singles but dual y-pipe back. example dual n1.

but the knightsport is seperated right after the downpipe...thats as dual as you can get.

Okay, so "true duals" is outa the question. But with a Y-pipe changing the single to a dual, does it matter where the Y-pipe is located throughout the exhaust system? I mean, if I manufacture my own downpipe that is basically a Y-pipe (so the downpipe splits before hitting the mid pipe or whatever), would that be any different than having the Y-pipe further down the exhaust more closer to the mufflers?

proformance wise for a turbo car you are better off with a full single 3". but dual tips look better.
you can't get a true dual on a single turbo car.

Scotts right-

The best performance is going to be a straight pipe- It really doesnt matter where they split if your going dual. My sugestion would be to run a full 3" DP to the stock y-pipe location, then split to dual 2.5" or dual 3" pipes...
