Can I eliminate my A/F meter?

Just like the title asks, is there anything I can do with it, maybe move it to the front, hook it up to the a throttle cable, or such. I want to make a nice custom intake, and the air meter sucks. It would be nice to have a straight shot intake like you would find on a singled supra. Just wondering if there were any alternatives to running this air meter or is it a really precise thing that will make my car run like crap if it is tampered with. (When my car runs that is) Thanks, and no I did not use the search, because I can't.

Oh, okay. That makes sense then. So for now I will just have to leave it in for now, but I don't think I have to have it in the same spot. Thanks LLADNAR.

There are systems out there that allow you to go to a hot wire system but they are mega bucks. As for moving it, that should be a problem provided you postion it in the same direction
