Can I beat a talon....???
There is a guy at my school with a 96 ESI talon 5 speed.
I HATE HIM.
his only mod is APC cold air intake. the rest of his money is in indiglo gauges and stickers. i have ridden in his car and i know his only mod is cold air intake. he still has stock exhaust.
anyway his car is a piece of **** and i hate it. first of all it has 14" PLASTIC FAKE CHROME WHEELS. It also is PURPLE!!!!

he is always talking **** on rotaries and i hate him. he always asks to race and says he will beat me because he is a "good driver" (by the way i made fun of him for that...i said oh so you shift mad quick yo???)
WHO WILL WIN from a dead stop??
1990 RX-7 5-speed with minor weight removal, RB headers, presilencer, 2.5" exhaust????

Man, those things are retardedly slow. I havent ridden in a good running N/A Rx7 though, especially a S5. My guess is its an easy win for you.

you definitely have the advantage.
you have more power and a lighter car.
if you can get a good launch you should leave him a few car lengths behind after a 1/4 mile.
i have a 90 GXL with a midpipe and i can take the ESI's and the eclipse GS's.
spank him hard and teach him a lesson

Yep- If you car isn't f*cked up you will definately beat him... You may even get him off the line (not an rx-7 strong suit!!) because he has kindof a heavy car and FWD!!

Oh yeah........kick his *** seabass.... practice your launch, where ever you're going to race, prior to the race, and get it down pat. the EXACT rpm, and then go show him, what's up. Don't want to lose out of the hole and then have to play catch up. Also shift with your wrist not your forearm.

Getting off the line is not our strong suit? I coulda fooled myself, lol. I can take my friends 300zx TT off the line when my car was bone stock.
They are very few 300z's in the upper levels of drag racing.... very bad 60 foot times. (with one or two exceptions I'm sure..)
I beleive there was a Z in sport compact car a while back, and they reworked the reasr susp., and they use and automatic tranny because of such bad launch inconsistancies!
Anyways.... back on topic... smoke....the...freakin....talon.....and...his....f reakin.....hubcaps....!

Yeah, you are going to smoke him, but don't get too pumped up and go out racing every talon/eclipse you see.
Those turbo ones (crazy mod. potential) will F*CK an NA RX-7 up and down and all over again.

i forgot to mention he has performance chips.
so his mods are cold air intake, performance chips, and walmart hubcaps...haha!
so does this make the tables turn???

I have actually seen 2 1st gen Mistubishi Eclipse GS's that were turbo. It said GS on it, but in the very little letters under "Eclipse GS" it said "16 Valve Turbo".
