Can the hatch itself squeak?

Mine seems to squeak when the opposite wheels are on different heights (entering a driveway that is elevated, in reference to the street, at a 45 degree angle - meaning the front left wheel is on the driveway and the rear right is still on the street, with the other two somewhere in the middle).

I was reading the "RX-7" book by some japanese guy and it said the hatch is basically a steel skeleton with a huge piece of curved glass. And that the skeleton was used to strengthen the structure. My hatch doesn't seem to have any rust, but my hatch shocks have failed a while ago (it holds up the weight, but doesnt spring the hatch open when the lever is pulled/key is turned).

The thing has been getting louder and louder over the past 3-4 months. As far as mods go i have switched to much stiffer sidewalled tires, which make the ride more rough, but nothing else. What would be the cause, how can i fix it?

I have same problem with my FC.

To stop squeaking hatch, I placed window weather stripping rubber under black vents located on both upper sides of hatch opening.

Vaseline.

Rub it all over the seal and it should improve things.

My hatch rattles to ever since I put on my KYB AGX and Tanabe GF210's. It seems to only rattle from the passenger side of the hatch.

Jack Yamaguchi is the author. ISBN 0-312-69456-3 for anyone interested (good read).

Icemark mentioned that Yamaguchi wrote 2 more books on the FC but I can't find them. Anyone know the other 2?

check points where hatch is connected to shell, both lower/upper, they are making noise usually, on stiff cars and bad roads, they could get loose
