Can coil packs go bad?

Can coil packs go bad?

Im getting a set of leading and trailing coils off a friends parts car. The car hasnt ran in who knows how long. Can the coils go bad after sitting for a while?

Coil packs can go bad but it doesn't happen often. Chances are there still good.
