Can anyone price a few parts for me?

i have a few parts i need to find the price of, ive only been able to find 2 so far

1G DSM 4G63T water pump - New in box - $30
TPS sensors ($30 ea) [used]

found them in the parts section

not sure if that water pump is correct for 86 rx7 na or not, but just using it as a reference price

parts i need prices on:

thermo wax
pulse damper
and u joints, new preferrably, i was told you have to replace the whole drive shaft? is this right?

just trying to check to see if im being screwed by the mechanic ';D

his prices for the part and to fix them:

water pump: 280$
tps: 260$
thermo wax: 305$
pulse damper: 320$
u joints: 260$

most of this work i can do my self, but some ill need a mechanic to do, due to lack of space and tools, such as the u joints

the TPS really stands out for me, if you can get a used tps for 30$ roughly, and it only takes a few minutes to install and put in specs, where does he get 260$ from? are new TPS' around 200$ or so?

the water pump i found was going for 30$ new, and he has 280$ maybe its in a hard to reach location or some such?

if anyone knows of a webpage that has all these items for sale, please let me know

If these are things you can do yourself, **** those prices.
There's a list of parts vendors in the archived threads i think... otherwise
mazdatrix.com
mazdaspeed.com
atkinsrotary.com
rx7store.net

AND for all the parts,
ebaymotors.com

yeah, im not a fan of that either
i but and sell a lot of parts on ebay, and i've noticed that i can generally sell parts for more than they're worth and buy them for less than i can find other places LoL

plus, i'm not a fan of mechanics... if you nkow how to do it yourself i would... a friend took his truck to a trustworthy mechanic with a 8-second 69 camaro who installed a water pump, but forgot a gasket.

unfortunately, ill have to take it to the machanic for some things

ive lost a lot of tools and such, well.. my brother has really, but i have no means of getting under the car, so anything thats gotta be done from under ill have him do, and anything thats really technical ill have to have him do, but none of these things are very technical, and the tps i can set myself

Well seeing as how those prices he's given you are for the part and the work they're not too far off. Figure in my neck of the woods labor rates are around $60s to $80s per hour, and the fact that mechanics usually give estimates with book times. Like for example the pulsation dampers only about $130ish but with labor to pull the upper intake manifold its very likely the cost would go to around $300 for the r and r work. Yes you can get a used tps for $30 or so but dealer price and mazdatrix is generally over $200 for the new part. Anyways enough of my rambling, just do what you think is most cost effective, or practicle for you, split the work load or something and have the mechanic do the bigger items, and just leave whatever you can do for yourself.
