can anyone answer this one

ia am regrounding my fc (86 gxl) and found a wire on the driverside with a little black box on it connected to the firewall, and i noticed that it isn't connected to anything, does anyone know what this is? thanks everyone.

sounds like a condensor, and it should be mounted to a good ground location

its mounted to a bolt on the fire wall, but there was a wire attatched to it and i lifted it with no resistance and the other end was freyed and corroded.

im searching forums right now and was wondering if that had anything to do with my car having a really hard time starting... it seems like in order to start it up i have to push on the brake pedal really hard or it wont even turn.

No, it is related to noise in the stock stereo or ECU. It should be wired up.

there is another under the hood on the clutch slave cyl
