Smile Can 2nd Gens Compete?

I know there are many who think the 2nd gens can't be competitive at the national level in autocross anymore, but here are some PAX'd results from the Pro Solo at Atwater, CA last weekend.

1 Thomas Harrington 99 Honda/CRG Heron 51.210 0.940 48.137
2 Wolfgang Hoeck 87 Mazda RX-7 Yell 56.120 0.864 48.488
3 Bill Buetow 89 Chevy Corvette 58.028 0.836 48.511
4 Steve O'Blenes 87 Mazda RX7 Turbo 56.508 0.864 48.823
5 Paul Russell 91 Mac Honda Red 51.986 0.940 48.867
6 Erik Strelnieks 01 Chevrolet Corvette 58.182 0.840 48.873
7 James Fingerman 89 Chevrolet Corve 58.604 0.836 48.993
8 Stacey Molleker 01 Chevy Vette Z06 58.339 0.840 49.005
9 David Schotz 01 Ford Cobra Blue 61.424 0.798 49.016
10 L J Moffet 89 Chevrolet Corve 58.778 0.836 49.138

Not bad. Two 87's in the top 5.

PAX takes the car out of the equation to compare the drivers. What you've pointed out is 2 very fast guys who happened to be in an RX-7. A very very fast RX-7.

I never said they weren't competative at all, just not the 1st & 2nd gens in stock and street prepared.
