Did you mean far Left? My ECU has three connectors - from left to right, small, medium and large.

The small one on the left has a black wire with blue stripe

My '87TII has gotten so bad that I cannot start when hot in less than 1/2 hr sitting. I put a switch in that turns off the injectors to un flood it, but when I switch it back on and crank it immediately floods again.

I'm going to try the disconnect and see if it helps.

Thanks!

I'm talking the smallest plug on the series four ECU. AND on the bottom row of that connector and all the way to the right on that small plug, bottom row, there is a black wire with a Blue stripe. That is the START signal to the ECU to let IT know that you are now starting the engine.

AUGIEDOGIE seems to have had some success using this method. He put a switch in the circuit to cut that signal out from the ECU during hot starts. He made some comments in this thread https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=566976

Very cool. Thanks for the quick reply. I have disconnected the wire - popped it out of the connector housing - and the car is idling right now ready for test drive. Unfortunately (although I'm enjoying the break) the temps dropped dramatically today and it's only about 65 degrees. Yes, just as you said, it was a bear to start. took lots of cranking, but did finally light up.
I'll let you know how the hot-restart works out

Thanks,000,000 for your research on this. If this is a fix for me, I'll be dancin' with joy.

Reading Hailers 220 ohm resistor modification, interesting.

But, to remind there are two other tried and true methods to fix this problem.

The best fix for this is to pull your injectors and have them back flushed and tuned to cure their leaking.

Second best fix, aside from the resistor approach, is that Mazdatrix makes a slick H-valve set up that also helps with this problem. Your Wankle will still have a cold heart when starting in the morning as what Hailers described would happen with his resistor fix. This is since it will take a few extra cranks to build up fuel pressure considering the H-valve bleads pressure back to the return line.

it's still just a harsh bandaid in most cases if it even works(not all hot start issues are caused by the same problems). best bet is to try and actually diagnose and fix the problem.
