Camden Superchargers kit here!

Well, the first half of it at least.

I'm still thinking about what I should do. I don't have much free time in the next two weeks, so I'm trying to decide if I'm going to take the time out of every day to work on getting this setup installed or if I should simply take this to a performance shop. I think I'll install it myself and save a couple hundred.

How many rib are the pulleys? 8? That's the only thing stopping my supercharger setup from being finished.

I guess I could do it myself. It's not gonna be easy, but I think I can do it. Plus it would make a great senior project. I can either hitch a ride in the Lexus in the mornings or I could drive the galant while I do the project.

It should actually be very easy. It should take no more than 2 days. Basically just get the tools ready, get some RTV sealant, and go at it.

Do it yourself man, you'll appreciate it more afterwards

Shouldn't be too hard to just slap together. Glad to see someone finally has this, can't wait to hear the results. Also, that'd make a really simple senior project just take tons of pictures and document everything and ur almost done haha

I only get half days at a time, hah. I'm going to start next week, and collect tools before then. I get about two hours every weekday (four to six on Friday), and Saturday/half of Sunday. So with the new fuel pump and getting everything up and running, it should all take me a full week. I'm also a pretty much newbie when it comes to physical mechanical work. Oh well, it'll be a good learning experience.

Well this is the first I've seen...

EDIT: I've always been a bit skeptical about their supercharger systems. Never thought it was cost effective. Seeing that unit really changed my mind though. I don't know what you paid, but you can tell they put alot of R&D into that thing.

Also, I just watched the commercial on camdems website for their sc fc... made my day, really awesome.

As far as I can tell, the amount of R&D that went into this kit warrants the price of $3200. Hell, it even comes with a short oil filter pedestal and a compact oil filter to assure intake manifold clearance. Little things, little things.

If you're talking about that filter in the pic, that's just the Atkins Mazda OEM SPEC filter that they produce and give out to everyone. When I drove over to their shop to pick up some stuff for my rebuild they gave me 2 for free as a "you'll need these" gift for the rebuild

Yea that looks REAL easy to put together. Take off the TB, dynamic chamber and upper intake manifold in one piece. Now take off the lower intake manifold. Mount the turbocharger in the same place as where you put the lower intake manifold, and then put that new intake manifold ontop of the supercharger! attach the TB to the manifold and then air piping to the new air cleaner.

Man that is so ******* cool, forced induction is awesome, I really really want a SC kit! Please please post pics of the charger when it comes, I wanna see it

Btw, you MUST and I mean MUST paint that intake manifold! Alluminum engine paint looks real sharp, the cap is a dull metal color, but the paint itself has a real real nice shine to it. PAINT!!!!!!

I've almost done my fuel system for restoration and painting, I will have pics soon, it looks real real nice. Actuators and dynamic chamber aluminum painted, and the upper and lower manifold black matte. alluminum painted injectors with blue vacume tubing for whats left that needs routing. fun stuff.

Even working 2 hours a day, it shouldn't take more than 3 days, it's basically bolt-on, hardest part will be the oil return (doh). Even with the R&D, I think $3000 for only what, 240hp? is a bit excessive. My entire car with the turbo conversion has cost less than that, and I gaurantee it's faster, and the low end arguement is nullified(gotta love high compression rotors spoolin yer turbo!) But, I can't wait to see how it actually does. Now that you've dumped $3g's, I sure as hell hope you've got a new clutch? Because the stock one gives out around 200rwhp...

3200 isnt really a good deal for SCing an NA.. You could sell an N/A, buy a TII, purchase all of the boltons and have a faster car..

I still don't get why people complain about this. The supercharger kit is produced by a business. It takes the business a certain amount of money to fabricate a prototype and then make production models of a product. If you simply had to pay them back enough to reimburse the cost of their labor, that would be nice and all, but business would crumble because they would never make a PROFIT. You don't make a supercharger kit to be nice and make a convenient forced induction alternative for the NA FC...

An extra 100+ horse is the way you need to see it. 100 HP for 3000$.. im not to sure if its entirely worth it, but its the only "real" performance upgrade you can do to your seven. Now if you love your car, then you'll do this, hell now that I think about my seven, i probably would. But if you want better performance for that kind of $, then sell your seven and buy something else with the combined money.

Yes, that's all fine an dandy, but the company kind of shoots itself in the foot when it's charging more than most of us paid for our cars, for something that gives you less power than you could've achieved from a turbo swap. I mean hell, if they were really thinking, they could've easily setup any of the roots blowers (m90 - m112), which are readily available, MUCH easier, with a lot more potentional (intercoolers/etc), and saved quite a fair bit. I mean, yes it's nice to have a company build parts for us, but it's just a waste of money for any everyday street person, especially when you can go turbo for considerably less, and yield way more potential.

What mods do you have done to your car? I'm interested to see what this kit will do on a car with mods.

Camden is dumb for not posting a dyno chart of the s/c on a car with say I/E and also another one on a more modified car (Full Exhaust, Intake, S-AFC or similar and porting). Potential is what I'm interested in. I would guess my S5 Vert has about 170 whp (Full RB Exhaust, Intake, Streetport, Intake Manifold Porting, S-AFC II). If a dyno chart were posted, it would silence a lot of the crap when the power curves were compared.

Get that thing installed!

I just noticed this... Where does the Secondary Fuel Injectors go with this kit? Is the secondary fuel rail deleted? If so, what fuel pressure regulator is being used?

Thanks!

I have full exhaust, upgraded fuel system, and an SAFC-II to control things.

The kit comes with one fuel rail and I believe you re-use one of the fuel rails on the car now. The kit comes with an SX FPR.
