Called Racing beat today...

Called Racing beat today. they told me that the compression on the engine should be 110-150 PSI... for some reason, the engine got 155 PSI on both rotors... He also said that I can only run 11-12 PSI safely. before I have to upgrade internals... What exactly do I have to upgrade to push more boost/more power... Im also looking at a HKS T04R turbo... also have a front mount intercooler from Greddy comming. anything else I should upgrade?

I would try a second compression check with a different gauge, just to make sure first.

I just bought a new one... it got 145 roughly in both sides... I think one was 144, and the other one was 146...

IS that still okay?

the car has upgraded apex seals, and is ported... thats all that i know thats been done with the engine... What do you upgrade to make more power?

I have seen engine's with 400+ rwhp and boosting 1.0 kilos(14+ psi) on a T-04R with stock internals...this car has been alive for awhile now...over a year...so I don't know why they said that.

They just want to cover there own butt. They don't want some guy to go out and build the crap out of his car, go out on the first spin, and grenade the thing. After that come back and tell them, "You said the motor was safe!"...then go to the forum saying Racing beat sucks, this, that and the other thing...etc. etc. I'm never buying anything from them again....

Better to be cautious, than stupid. CJ

I wish they were so cautious when they told me that I would need no other upgrades if I bought their full exhaust system. "Your car will require no other upgrades to support this other than the FCD"

good bye engine

my own fault for not researching it more, I just figured a guy who sold rotary engine upgrade parts would know more than me

Fuel Pump
Gauges
720cc Injectors would be nice
S-AFC would be nice too

that would be pretty safe, still have to watch out for boost spikes and running lean but thats what the gauges are for

Basically I had to spend about $800 more to be pretty safe with the car which is much cheaper than my $5000 rebuild project...

I hear you

I had the same thing happen to me a month ago. I bought the car an 6 days later it blew under heavy boost (we have ruled out the seller having any pre knowledge and took excellent care of the car).

pretty crazy though, VetteKiller, we know have the same mods.

I just added ss lines and a few other details. I just got my car back after the retard took 3 weeks to swap the motor out. I was doing the gauges tonight.

later

Three weeks? I should be so lucky, my car has been in the shop for 6 weeks and it still doesn't run. But I've run into a butt load of other problems like bad coils and possible bad ECU.

This car has a A/F guage, boost guage, 255 lb fuel pump, 980 cc secondary injectors. S-AFC, boost controller, turbo timer.

http://www.jaredcolletti.com/website...G_2528_JPG.jpg

Also I noticed that this turbo has the markings HT18S
Im going to check the turbo out... do these markings mean anything? the seller said it was a T3 hybrid.. hes got the paper work and everything, paid like 1800 for it.. just dont want to get a stock little guy :-)

Thanks
~Mike

sorry bud, looks like the stock compressor, unless it's stock housing, different blades. You can't see mine in the pic, but I just had it off the other day and it looks identical.

Try that and see what you think. Housing looks like it's marked exactly the same

This is what he said he did to the turbo.....

when he took his car into a shop in canada... they said there was WAY too much play in the turbo... and he would have to get a new one... what they ended up doing was using the stock housing... and putting a bigger/better compressor wheel/turbine wheel. he said, the compressor wheel has more fins, fins that go up farther than the others...

does this sound rihgt?
