Is the brake rotor centered/snug on the hub?

If it didn't rub with the old rotor, you either have the wrong rotor or your caliper attachment is not correct or the new rotor is not seated properly. Double check to make sure you have the correct rotor, and that it is seated on the hub correctly (like flat) and then remove and carefully reinstall the caliper.

Are you sure it's the caliper body and not the pad(s) that are rubbing on the rotor?

i dont think the pads on that side a sittin rite then because i should have aleast a hair gap between the caliper and the rotor!

Make sure the mating surface on the hub is clean and the rotor is laying flat on the hub. Also when your cross drilled rotors crack (and they will) replace them with plain or slotted.

I just did an entirely new braking system; PowerSlot rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and new SS lines. All my rotors rubbed on pads for about 20-30 miles for a bit, but they don't anymore. Light rubbing though, like a tsshhh noise when you spin the (torqued) tire in the air.

I'm pretty sure it's not your caliper.

Do you have the springs between the pads?

sounds like you blew a brake line.OR I hope that you didn't put your foot on the brake and then squeeze the pads back on the caliper.you could have pushed a Brake piston out and then the seal would then leak.

I finished a brake job, drove the car about 30 feet and then the caliper started grinding on the new rotor. I took it apart and realized I forgot teh washers on the mounting bolts for the caliper. So make sure you have the washers, I believe it was 2 on each bolt.

Either there is still air in the lines, you have a fluid leak or the internal seals in your master cylinder are shot. Make sure you are bleeding the brakes correctly. Look for a leak at all joints along the brake lines. If you believe that you are correctly bleeding the brakes and you do not see a leak, replace the master cylinder w/a rebuilt unit.
