hey guys..this happened a a few months back...i had been driving from Wilson, NC to Greensboro, NC........then while backing out of the parking lot my wheel locked, just stopped the car, like i had smacked into something. At this time for about a year now my left rear wheel had been making a creaking noise when breaking but would dissipate with new pads...well pads were getting worn and then the next day on the freeway my caliper had gotten loose and actually had enough for to actually lock the wheel by friction agianst the inside of the rim. Now what the hell would force a caliper with enough force to lock the wheel up at 80 miles an hour? It had only been doing it in reverse now it was doing it in either way of travel. Well the mechanic changed where the caliper bolts onto the hosuing itself and there were no problems but still i get this damned creaking out of the wheel.... i have changed the disk, the caliper twice (one from a junkyard kept locking up then i got one from advance) and i also took the bearing hub and axle from another Seven at the junkyard.....turns out bearing was bad and kept occilating back and forth...but still at low speeds when applying the beak ever so lightly u can hear a groaning noise....i also checked the other bearing from the new(old) hub and it doesnt rotate as easily as the other but it doesnt move from side to side so im safe....but what the hell is this noise???

no the rotor wasnt warped...when i took the wheel off and let the car run on jacks it looked warped...bought new disk it did the same thing...so it turned out the bearing was way fuct.....but would that going side to side have enough force to push the caliper off of its screws and littlerally lock the wheel up from friction with the inside of the rim??? thats fuggin nuts!!!!
More likely, the vibrations rattled the nuts loose, and the caliper followed. Of course, any time you wedge a nice heavy caliper between your wheel and your car, it will create a great deal of friction.

i thinks thats what it did...made the nuts loose...but damn would some silly *** rattling be enough force to push the caliper up enough to to lock the wheel up...keep in mind that it was stil on one screw not completely off....it was the rear part of the caliper that lifted up...weird ****..doesnt matter anymore......but at that point i thought my car had to be excorcised.....but it still makes a small noise in that area back there.....
same thing happened to me in auguast, i had replaced my pads and rotors a month before and i guess i didnt torque one the the caliper bolts down right so i got to have an adventure in the tow truck too.
