CAI on NA RX7?

Ive seen a few people do it, and even though it often looks super ghetto, im seriously considering it. I want to know if its worth it, and if it is, which one to buy?

Your car came with a CAI from the factory. Put your extra money in an IRA.

That's another question, header or downpipe setup?

Downpipes are for turbocharged vehicles.
I would invest money into a racing beat header and exhaust if you can afford it.

So my main concern, as it would be my next move if I decide to do it, is with my completely stock everything, how bad is the smell and how does it affect the sound? Again I'm running stock everything mechanically. So it would just be presilencer and headers

I garuntee the performance bump I gained from an RB streetable header and presilencer delete was more then any CAI will do. Get the K&N drop in for your factory air box and pick up a streetable header. then remove your cat from the pre-silencer and extend some pipe on the end of the stock cat to reach the RB header. Then you have factory y-pipe, factory-cat and a much better flowing system.

or, if you have lots of money, buy a full RB system and never look back.

Joe, if you change the intake, how will you know if it's better or worse?
I've fabbed up a number of intakes but never could really tell any difference from stock.

My butt dyno said "No difference" on the hillbilly model.

My car also had RB true duals and a street port, though, so I guess it would have been hard(er) to tell.

I'm still not getting a straight answer hahaha so ill ask again

With ONLY the racingbeat header and presilencer, nothing else at all, how bad is the smell?
At this point the smell is my only concern really.
