I just did a Prelude CAI fab for my 86 Gxl. Installed the sucker and for whatever reason it can't hold idle. It starts up, goes to 3k, but then when it goes down to 2-1.5k to idle it dies. But when I put the stock **** back on it runs perfect. WTF??!?!?! I've checked for restrictions, I've check the iac tubing, the filter, and everything else and there's nothing wrong with it at all. So what's the deal? Anybody know?

 

1) Any air leaks post-MAF sensor?
2) MAF installed with the arrow pointed towards the engine?
3) MAF wiring harness securely installed?

 

Yeah the MAF is all good. I'm thinking that my IAC piping is faulty, I'm fixing it up now and hopefully my **** will run better.

 

Fixed it up and still no go. Damn any more idea's? Thanks for the help btw

 

there is an intake leak somwhere in it, or the plug to the AFM has a bad connection, those would be the only two things i would see causing the problem since that was the only thing you added to the car.
