CA emissions
welp went in to get my car smogged today..failed pretty bad.
Reading Limit
HC.....ppm: 718 118
CO.....% 3.20 0.75
CO2...% 9.8
O2.....% 5.3
NO(x)ppm: 499 799
P.E.F....... 0.490
Zero required.
So, basicly i failed pretty damn bad. Im aware Im running rich. Ive heard its dangeriouse to mess with the air fuel control screw on the right hand side of the engine bay. Is this true? should I adjust it as low as i can with the engine running? If yes. then how do i know where to return it when im done with smog?
Ive searched around for the ACV mod...but everything i found seemed to be a little unclear. Anybody wanna shed some light on this?
Its possible my cats are old. Im not sure 100% how old they are. since ive only just baught the car recently.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
air pump and cat...
Assuming that you have already done the basics like new spark plugs and a new air filter before testing.
There is a chart in the FAQ for FC sticky thread that tells you what to look at based on what things are high and what things are low. You should always read the FAQ for FC sticky thread before posting.

I did first read the sticky. And thats why i was considering the acv mod. Any body have any info on this for me? a writeup? the things ive read about it didnt really explain it very clearly.
what reading shows that i need new cats? just curiose.
My first post didnt post my numbers quite the way i wanted it to
I got a 718 on HC the Limit is 118
And a 3.20 on the CO and the Limit is 0.75
