A/C quit... HELP
Listen Jacko, I know that it is the middle of August and I am bringing this thread back to the top. Just in case you are still airless. Just go to your local auto parts store and buy the Retro fit kit. There is a good one for $40 and a cheap one for about $25. Since your system just stopped working I would bet your freon is low. The cheap kit has a can of R-134a, put it in the system per the instructions. (really easy instructions) and see if your system comes alive again. If it does then you solved the riddle.......(A) low freon. If it does not then it is (B) something electrical or your compressor is out or something like that.
(A) the freon was low.....run this gas in the system for a few days to see if leaks out, then you know you have a leak. Some people don't like this gas, ( I do not agree with them as I feel you are just compressing a gas.) You can go to the machanic and have the system evacuated and replace the gas with R12.
(B) If the gas runs out immediatly or the compressor does not kick in then you still need to go the mechanic.
The retro fit kit is the cheapest way to diagnose your problem, that way you don't get bent over by a repair shop.

I just ordered that. Should I use the leak stop, or should i have a shop look at it, then fill it up myself?

Also, DO NOT put R-134a in the R-12 system, it can really screw it up, so it's a good thing you got freeze 12.
