A/C Line removal questions.

Ok, so the person who owned the car before me already went ahead and removed the A/c compressor so I've been working on getting rid of all the lines that were left since they are dead weight...

Please help me out on this one, and if i seem noobish, its because I am :p

Ok, on this attached pic, Is it ok to go ahead and remove the line circled in red that goes to the drier? And should I go ahead and remove the drier at that point to?

And as far as the one in blue and in red, should these lines be capped off? if so, w/ what?

And next question. What are the lines I highlighted in blue that look like they run to the engine? They look like they just run to the condensor. Are these safe to remove? And do they need to be capped off at the block?

And finally, is there an easier way to get to and pull the condensor w/ out removing the radiator?

i'm in the same position you are so you may want to get a second opinion, but from my research:

In your first post: remove the drier and associated lines with a hacksaw or whatever works best. Cap/plug/seal the lines that go through the firewall.

Second post: Beware, I believe those are oil lines..

Third: the Haynes manual says to remove the radiator but I've heard of some people getting it out by removing the hood latch and pulling it from up top.

good luck

If I remember correctly, that hose going towards the front is the hose to the radiator...when I pulled my AC compressor, that was still hooked up, but I didn't want to take it out in case it started leaking coolant everywhere...

You can remove the underbody tray and oil cooler and pull out the condensor.

One more question for all... If removing the A/c, compressor, drier, lines and blower, will this effect the heater or heater core? I mean im not going to start spewing coolant everywhere because I removed the A/c right? The Heater is a seperate entity?

yea, get rid of that ac cooler thingy in front of the rad, behind the oil cooler...don't ask how (cause i don't know), but on mine, it had tons of bent fins and had leaves and mud all up in it (though the oil cooler and rad had only minor flaws). no reason to keep it if you have no a/c, it's just extra weight and more of an air restriction before the radiator, imo

Also, is it safe to pull the cooling unit/evaporator also?

After I remove all this what will happen if I turn on the air? lol

You can pull that , but you need to find/replace it with the duct piece from a non-AC car.The upside to that is it makes life much easier if you need to pull wires,etc. on that side since there isn't a big plastic box blocking everything and the non A/C duct is flexible and easy to take out/replace.

The blower is separate,why would you pull that?

Is this "duct" what would connect the heater to the blower in a non-AC car?

I'm building the car for auto-x and track days so its pretty much dead weight, thats why i was just gonna pull the blower too...

Ok, so today I got all the a/c lines pulled along w/ the compressor and the drier. and now i have a question.

When pulling the drier there was a line going from it to the condensor that had an eletrical contection on it. That ran over to a set of relays and was taped up w/ a punch of other lined going to these 2 relays. I checked the FSM and it only references 1 relay in the A/c section. Are both relays (in the pic) for the a/c or is one for something else that needs to be kept in the car?

ok, i think i figured it out...

Yellow=Elec fan sub relay
Red= a/c main relay
Green= (AC) and is the connection to the front and a/c harness FAC01
Blue= (AC) and is the connection to the front and A/c harness FAC02
Tan= Magnetic clutch(AC1)

Soo looks this is good to keep out....unless anyone has any objections?
