A/C install on 1988 rx7 SE
A good deal on a 1988 rx7 SE popped up in my area and I was thinking of purchasing one since I've wanted an FC for so long.
The only thing that's kind of turning me away from it is the fact that the car doesn't come with A/C, power locks or power windows. I can overlook the last 2 but not having AC for the Summer is kind of a deal-breaker for me. With that being said, is it easy or hard to install A/C in a car that never had it in the first place?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help shed some light!

Hard to install and convert to r-134 or r-154a? No. But finding all the parts is going to be difficult. Everything is now at least 29 years old now and they don't make replacements. If you really want a/c I would wait to find a car that has one from the factory. Also you'll probably have to take it to a shop to have it filled, unless your willing to buy some tools.
I'll echo what CryoSignal said- really consider finding a car with AC already installed. I just finished reviving the AC on my vert and I spent a lot more money than I anticipated for sure- including the gauge set, vacuum pump (probably could've rented those, but I always use these projects to add to my tool collection), rebuilt compressor (it IS available), replacement hard line I damaged by being an idiot, etc..
Furthermore, I was very fortunate my evaporator was in great shape- I didn't relish the thought of having to crawl underdash to replace that.
Having said all that, if you are stuck on this particular car, start your research now and be patient. You CAN find the parts, it just won't be as easy as doing the same on a Honda Civic.
