A/C Clutch will not engage, anything obvious
I just bought an 88 TII. When I go to turn the A/C on the clutch on the compressor will not engage. Is there anything obvious I should be looking for?? Thanks in advance for the help.

I remember my honda had a safety switch on it that would not allow the compressor to go on if the pressure was too low. I dono about rx7s but pretty safe to say the same.

Had the same problem recently. Jumped power from the battery to the compressor to make sure it was working properly and then serviced with freon. Troubleshot the problem to the A/C main relay located forward of radiator on drivers side. Mazda parts rep said the relay is no longer available so I disassembled the relay cleaned the contacts and cleaned the rest with electronics cleaner and it works fine. A/C is working great!

9 times out of 10, the problem is low freon level - the AC systems get old, and eventually spring leaks. Electrical problems (see above) can happen, but that's rare.

You can even use freeze12 a replacement for R12. Don't have to convert anything over to 134 either. Lemme find the website...
http://www.freeze12.com/
There's one for ya...
Just make sure to plug any leak in the system that there is before charging obviously...

I would bet that the Freeze12 license is a SCAM.
