Red face A/C belt removal.

Since my A/C doesnt work, i decided to take off the belt going to what i hope is teh A/C. i took off the front most belt that goes to the pump just to the right of the intercooler. im not sure if the pump below it is A/C or not. i was just wondering if remopval of this belt would have some bad effect on my engine at all. i already noticed a slight increase in power since my engine no longer dies when you rev it up and drop it on a cold start.

The power steering pump is on top; the A/C compressor is below.
