Buzzing when interior light dimmer turned up, under passenger dash, relay??

Ive got this buzz that was random but now appears to be constant and I have diagnosed it as being when my guage dimmer is turned up anything more than the mininmum it will go. The buzzing comes from under the passenger dash area and I have located the buzzing part, it is a little square piece (by feel) and it vibrates a whole bunch when buzzing. Is this a relay going wacky or what? Any idea how to fix this? Ive got no problems with my guages being set to super low as that is how I usually drive but sometimes I would like a little more visibility of the guages without this annoying buzzing.
anybody experienced this

What box/relay is doing this???

There are only a couple factory electronics on the passengers side, none of which are normally hooked up to the dash lumintation circuit (red/green).

Is this something aftermarket???

And you bump has been deleted. Bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd gen technical section.

You'd rather whine about the forum than get your problem fixed???

I asked:

to answer your question

no there is nothing aftermarket in the mix. I have installed an aftermarket deck and believe the install involved wiring for a dimming function however it doesnt do anything to the deck when I rotate the dimmer. The dash and all other dimmible lights on the console continue to dim but when I raise it over the minimum the constant buzz comes. sounds almost like a pump would.
I have isolated the piece that is making the buzz, I assume from vibration as it vibrates really badly. I guess ill have to take a pic of whatever this piece is to get it properly identified.

or see if we can get a better description... like size (4"x4"x1"???) or color, maybe what wires or plugs are going in and out of it.

Of course a P/N would be even better

what does the buzz sound like morgan? like the key on/door open gentle nagging?

Has anything gotten wet in there lately? (it IS a vert, so I figured I'd ask....plus I had a sort of similar problem which was caused by moisture)

Hey Joe

it doesnt sound like the door/key chime, I would say a little more like the low oil/redline buzz...

Oh things have gotten wet in there recently, but then they got out of the passenger seat
