Buzzer swap with lights?

Anyone ever experimented with replacing the low oil/coolant buzzer with radioshack special $.99 LED lights? That way you do away with the annoying buzzer but still allows the car to talk to you. Just an idea that popped into my head. Wouldnt it be just as easy as cutting and soldering lights in place of buzzer? Are there seperate wires for each signal? or is it a single signal from the ECU? Maybe so you could use 1 light per signal (Coolant or Oil)

Why??? There is already low coolant and low oil warning lights on the idiot light panel.

And if you used a LED you would either need a 12 volt LED or a 2 volt LED with resistor...

But I just don't see the point
