buzzer question

hey guys i have a question about the buzzers. Weird thing i just replace the rear brake pads on my 87 gxl, after i lowered the car back on the ground i started it up to take a little drive after running for about 5 or 10 seconds the buzzer started going off, ive heard this buzzer before when i turned the car on with out any oil, and i read that it turns on when there is low coolant. ive check the oil, im about to check the coolant and ive already checked the other fleweds and now im going to check a few other things like unplugging the batter and trying to reset the ecu. my question is and i dont think it is possible but could i have done something wrong in changing my brakes to cause a buzzer to go off, mind you i have not touch anything else on the car sense i drove it last which was this morning.

PS. my gas is a little low could this be it as well.

thanks for any help.

well i guess a never mind is in order it was low coolant but then i guess i have a bigger problem then. i checked the coolant maybe 5 weeks ago and topped it off, latly i have been smoking or at least i have started to notice it when i first start up in the morning could this be a busted coolant seal. saw that if you put a funal on the cool filler and bubbles come out that it means a coolant seal went out is there anything else i can do to confirm this

Smokeing on a cold morning is normal for a rotary. It is because it has to run very rich, not because it has a blown seal. Small bubbles will be in the coolent if you don't burp the system properly, and can stay in the system for a long time before making it to the sensor causing the buzzer to go off. Is there enough coolent in the overflow bottle? As well, you might want to check the condition of your rad cap's.

the overflow is full, a little more than usual. But the coolant was rather low more so that it should be but i there are no leaks from what i can tell. the coolant is dirt i dont think it is oil maybe just dirty coolant for what ever reason but it has always been dirty. Lately i havent been letting it warm up as long but i dont lay on the gas i drive it nice until it fully warms up. but i only do this when it has been running only a few hours earlier, in the morning when it hasnt run all night i let it warm up all the way before i drive it. any info would be great guys.

Check the radiator (when cold), and the coolant bottle. If your rad cap is stuck, you can be low on coolant in the rad, and still have plenty in the over flow.

If you were doing a lot of city driving mixxed with a lot of idleing letting it warm up and with the weather getting very cold that could be about the right mpg this time of year.
