buzzer goes off @5k but fluid levels all ok
Hiya, quick run down of what I have and my little buzzing problem.
car:
87 Turbo
mods: fuel regulator, TID, intake, ported wastgage, downpipe, midpipe
problem: I have recently begun hearing the buzzer go off at about 5k. At first I thought it was the oil, or coolant warning (though no lights ever came on) so I checked both fluid levels and both are fine. Also I have removed my airpump and I still need to buy the double sheath pulley for the alternator, and hence my belt slips at higher rpms (does this have to do with the buzzing?). I used to hear the buzzer go off premturely on rare occasions, but now any time the car goes past 5k I hear the buzzer.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

"Bump" is just a way of keeping the thread at the top of the list so people are more likely to see it.
If you say your Alternator belt slips sometimes then I would think that would be the problem, but not sure why it would happen at 5k if it only slips at higher rpm...I dunno.....plus if your belt slips or is not hooked up right then all your dash lights should come on (add coolant, oil, overheating, etc. etc..) Can't help ya out on this one really.....I am not sure my self.

Thankz for the help guys. This morning while going to work I took it up to 6.5k and no beep, just some nice boost =] Then this evening when coming home from a meeting it buzzed at like 5.8k =[ . I'll check that radiator wire, and see where it goes.

according to the UK hand book - the warning buzzer should sounds at 6900 RMP +/- 100
if you hammer the car up to that it beeps , if you build up gradually it doesnt
i have had mine up to about 7600RPM and no beep , but i slowly applied the throttle rather than just flooring it
i think the idea is that if you floor it , the reaction time between the buzzer and you changing gear or backing off will only take you up to say 7500 RPM , thus not blowing the engine
if you rev the engine carefully upto that amout , there is no warning as you are obviously aware of what you are doing
hope this helps
