buying a T2. what do i need to do to drive it home
p;im going down to jersey this weekend to pick up a T2 (10ae). the car has been sitting for a few years but started up every few weeks. i know it had a bad hot start problem (leaky injectors) which is why it hasn't been driven for the past few years. what do i need to do to be able to drive it home (about 2.5 hours away). im going to change the oil and coolant and swap out the injectors. anyhitng else i should do or check while im at it? im going to go through it when i get it home i just need to make sure it will get me there

I dont think i would try it. I would just go ahead and get the dolly and get it home before i started tinkering with it. I would check the compression though, and all the vitals. Who knows, it maybe very well be good to drive home with, but better safe than calling AAA or a wrecker to tow you home if it breaks down.

How bout you rent a dolly for the blazer, but plan on driving it back.. that way your friend can follow you in the blazer and if something does happen you can just tow it home?
More expensive than just driving it home, but cheaper than paying a tow truck to pull it!

This post just gets better and better! I think ryder and uhaul runs weekend specials that are pretty cheap. If they are not running a special, just keep shopping back and forth, they will lower the price to get your business. They did for me anyway. I would try that out rather than trying to drive home with two cars you are unsure about.
