sorry, had a few probs with puttin this up, im looking at buying an 86 s4 turbs, but it hasnt got power steering/windows/morrors, or a sunroof or cruise control..... is that cause its an early model s4 and also what else would it be missing or be different?? also its got a nice 1300km rebuilt s5 engine but it idles lumpy or rough but only a little bit, is that cause of the exhaust? or has it got problems, it doesnt blow smoke thanks

sounds like to me you got an Infini. is there a number 8 sideways on the back off your car?

 

I have no idea what the Ausi models/options were, but I'm a bit surprised there's _none_ of the features you've mentioned. I wonder if it's possible that's an n/a that had a 13BT swapped in.

 

I would imagine that someone has swapped a turbo engine into a base model. Great car, because it's the lightest of the 2nd gens, and the S5 13BT is the most powerful off all the 2nd gen 13Bs.

As for the lumpy idle, it could be anything. First, do a complete tuneup. See if that fixes it.

 

Make sure you are using the correct ECU for that engine.

 

maybe s4 ecu cannot idle an s5 engine properly. Lighter pistons.

 

I thought Australia got basically Japanese spec. TIIs which had all kinds of trim levels. The North American market's TIIs were all power with sunroofs. Or so I've read. The PS must have been an option on N.A. market cars though, cause I've had one w/o.

 

sorry, dunno if its an infini cause its had a respray, its pretty cool, got wolf 3d and everything... tell ya more about it when / if i buy it.

Infinis came with power windows, your's is not an Infini. Sorry =) I think Aaron's got the right idea.

its wierd, does a base model come with turbo?
he says its always been a turbo aswell
but im just gonna put power windows and mirrors on later and a sunroof too
i wont worry about the non power steering tho... it doesnt really matter
